Many of us have found ourselves wishing "they" had planned better for the future back "then."  For coming generations, WE are "they" and NOW is "then."  City staff and a committee of over 40 volunteers worked for seven months to develop a plan for the future.  Take a look at a summary, or browse the chapters below to get an idea of how we can address issues as far out as 2060.  Let us know what you think of this vision for the city, through the comment box at the bottom of this page.

Redevelopment Resource Guide

The Big Picture
Using natural resources and bringing in new-comers is the only way to grow our economy.  But we have to avoid negative impacts along the way.
Back to Basics
Safety, shelter, health and travel routes have been the foundations of strong communities since the beginning of human civilization.
Building Blocks
We must maintain a careful balance between competing land uses, while ensuring quality development and prompt attention to areas of disrepair.
Gather, Play and Learn
Schools, parks and libraries are where we explore and celebrate the diverse culture that has driven our community for a century.
