Downtown Recycle Center

This new drop-off recycling facility opened in April 2009 at the northeast corner of 3rd Street and 11th Avenue. The center is open to the public year-round during daylight hours. For a list of what can and cannot be recycled at this facility download this trusty recycling guide, or pick one up in person at the Community Development Department, 1100 10th Street, 2nd floor.

There are several containers for different types of recyclable materials including cardboard and paper bags, low-grade paper productsand high-grade paper materials, co-mingled containers (includes plastic bottles) and glass bottles and jars. Make sure to put materials in the right container, and always prepare materials properly!

National Recycling, Inc of Lucerne, Colorado opened the center using a grant from the State of Colorado Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity Fund. The grant paid for the site improvements and equipment, and the property is owned by the Greeley Urban Renewal Authority and leased to National Recycling, which manages the facility. Construction included the use of recycled asphalt and xeriscaping. An educational kiosk provides a place to learn about recycling and other environmental issues.
