2014 Festival of Trees
at the Union Colony Civic Center
November 28 - December 6

If you start humming Jingle Bells in June and delight in “decking the halls” then creating a holiday display for the 2014 Festival of Trees is right up your alley…or should we say chimney? This exciting annual event, set for Nov. 28-Dec. 6 inside Greeley’s Union Colony Civic Center, features beautifully decorated trees, a silent auction, kids’ activities, live performances and special events.

Even with Mrs. Claus and all those elves, the chubby guy himself couldn't create a better winter wonderland than Greeley's Festival of Trees. This annual week-long extravaganza of exquisitely decorated trees and wreaths began twenty-seven years ago. It started as a labor of love by the City of Greeley and the Greeley Philharmonic Guild as the main fundraiser for the Union Colony Civic Center and the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. Every year the Festival of Trees presents a forest of beautifully decorated trees, whimsical to elaborate, each with its own unique theme. At the end of the Festival, the coveted People's Choice, St. Nick’s Pick, and Mrs. C’s Favorite Tree awards are presented to the businesses, individuals or organizations whose trees are voted overall favorites.  Not to forget Candy Cane Lane, a showcase of evergreens adorned with ornaments created by “mini-crafters” who compete for the Kids’ Choice ribbon! This celebration is one of the most anticipated yuletide events not only for our community, but all of Northern Colorado.

No doubt thousands of people attending the festival discover the magnificent displays are only part of the fun. In addition to strolling through splendidly decorated lobbies, patrons enjoy heartwarming activities including visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, face-painters, children's activities, horse & carriage rides, holiday demonstrations, door prize drawings, and joyous serenading by Christmas choirs and merry musicians. Keep an eye out for Holly & Noel, the talking Christmas Trees! As well as elaborately decorated trees, the celebration also includes special events including Kream of the Krop Swing Band's Jingle Bell Jam, Silver Bells Social, the Teddy Bear Bash, Sip & Shop Ladies Night Out, the Whoville Holiday Seussabration, and the memorable music of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra’s Poinsettia Pops Concert. Throughout the festival, patrons can bid on seasonal items including trees, wreaths, Santas, snowmen and year round items like JEWELRY in the silent auction!
