Subject:  Special Greeley Clean Up Weekend Opportunities
Spring has arrived in Greeley with several annual community clean-up and improvement events set for the weekend of April 26 to 27. 
Residents will have the opportunity to celebrate Arbor Day; clean their homes, yards and neighborhoods from debris; dispose of unused or expired medications; shred sensitive documents; and drop off recyclables.
  • Arbor Day: April 27, 10 a.m., UNC Campus at 10th Ave & 17th St. Tree installation ceremony and refreshments, seedling trees, balloons and bumper stickers. Free.
  • Annual Clean Up Weekend: April 26 & 27, 9 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., N. 11th Ave. and H St. Drop off household debris, appliances and scrap metals. Fee for service.
  • Prescription Drug Drop Off: April 27, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at three sites: Greeley Police Headquarters (2875 10th St.); UNC University Center (2045 10t Ave.); and Sam’s Club (Evans, 3247 23rd Ave.). Drop off unused or expired medications (no needles or sharps, mercury, oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters or illicit drugs can be accepted).   Document shredding service available at the Greeley Police Headquarters site. Free.
  • Organic Waste Center: Year-round, E. 8th Street one mile east of US Hwy 85. Drop off grass, leaves, clean and mixed wood, limbs, brush, sod and topsoil. Fee for service.
  • Downtown Recycling Center: Year-round, 3rd Street and 11th Ave. Drop off cardboard, paperboard, glass, aluminum and tin, #1 & 2 plastics junk mail, newspapers and office paper. Free.
