Subject: Community Garden & Refugee Art Event
The Neighborhood Resource Office of the City of Greeley and Women2Women’s Creative Community are hosting a fundraising event to support the community gardens at the Clay Center of Northern Colorado and refugee art. The fundraiser includes a special screening of the movie “Urban Roots”, healthy refreshments, and a silent auction for various fiber arts handcrafted by local refugee women. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kress Cinema and Lounge, 817 8th Avenue, Greeley. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance.
The mission of Creative Community is to assist members of Greeley’s refugee population with their integration into the community. One of the important ways this is accomplished is by teaching “sewing arts” in a safe and nurturing environment for both volunteers and participants.
The City of Greeley supports community gardens as a way to enrich neighborhoods and support healthy lifestyles. For information about this event or gardens, please call Deb DeBoutez, Neighborhood Resource Office for the City of Greeley at 336-4167 or Deborah.firstname.lastname@example.org
