THE UNION COLONY CIVIC CENTER IN GREELEY UNVEILS 25TH ANNIVERSARY LINEUP OF STARS!
The Union Colony Civic Center has unveiled its 2013-14 25th Anniversary Season lineup. This season will feature some of the biggest names in country music, stand-up comedy, Broadway performances, and television.
Since it opened in downtown Greeley with much fanfare in October 1988, the Union Colony Civic Center has brought a wide array of performances to the audiences of Northern Colorado. Now, 25 years later, the party is even bigger as “The 25th Anniversary Season is packed with some of the hottest acts in entertainment today,” according to Union Colony Civic Center Director Mark Breimhorst.
“It doesn't matter where your entertainment interest lies – stand-up comedy, ballet, musicals, animal acts, children's activities, Christian groups – you will absolutely find something in this season's line-up,” Breimhorst added.
The season kicks off on Saturday, September 7, with the return of “The Price Is Right – Live!” a touring stage version of the long-running, popular and America’s #1 game show. After a sold out performance in 2012, the production is returning with all new games and more opportunities for audience members to go home with prizes.
Sunday, September 8, brings the official birthday celebration of the 25th Anniversary. Free to the public, the party and gala celebration will include a variety of entertainers throughout the center's first and second floor lobbies. Community members are invited to tour the facility, with an opportunity to stand on-stage and try their hand with a microphone. There will also be an “instrument petting zoo” for kids of all ages!
From that weekend on, it is one great event after another, as the UCCC showcases some of the greatest talent and biggest names in entertainment today. The season has 6 themed series: Special Events, Stage Spectaculars, Critics’ Choice, Just For Laughs, Catch a Star Family Series, and the Union Colony Civic Center Travel Film Series.
Beginning July 8, patrons can purchase season ticket packages for an entire series or the a la carte series, which allows patrons to mix and match shows to combine any 5 shows from the various different series into a “personalized series.” Tickets for individual fall shows go on sale August 5 and individual spring show tickets will be available beginning December 2. For further information or to purchase tickets, go online to ucstars.com; by calling 970-356-5000 or 1-800-315 ARTS; or visit the Union Colony Civic Center ticket office at 701 10th Avenue in Greeley.
