Subject: Residents Are Reminded to Lock Doors and Windows
The Greeley Police Department wants to remind residents how important it is to lock their doors and windows, especially during overnight hours. Since early June police have responded to several reports of individuals entering or attempting to enter occupied residences in the early morning hours.
The descriptions of the suspects have varied widely, as have the locations where the incidents are occurring. The incidents have very little in common other than people were home at the time of the events, and they all happened in the very early morning hours. The criminal acts reported by the victims, beyond unlawful entry, vary greatly from incident to incident. There have been no serious injuries reported to date.
Police do not wish to alarm residents, and don’t believe these incidents are all connected, but want to encourage residents to report suspicious activities in your neighborhoods and vigilantly lock doors and windows. If you find yourself in a situation where something like is occurring, either in your home or neighborhood, please call 911 immediately. If you have information of a non-emergency nature, please call the Greeley Police Department at 970-350-9600.
