AGFINITY ALL-STAR GAMES SET FOR THIS WEEKEND
The first Northern Colorado Adult Softball League Agfinity All-Star Games organized by the City of Greeley’s Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department is set for Saturday, July 27 beginning at 4pm in Twin Rivers Ball Park located at the Family FunPlex (1501 65th Avenue) in Greeley. The evening will include several programs and will have sixty adult softball leagues participating. Currently the second largest USSSA softball league in the state of Colorado with 135 summer league teams, it is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
The day’s events will include a Future’s Game with local 6-7 year old T-ball players, a Home Run Derby featuring Level D players, two games – a Men’s & Mixed league All-Star Game, and recognition of officials as well as those individuals that have been playing in the league long-term. The National Anthem will be sung by local University student Jennie Arguello. They’ve even partnered with the Weld Food Bank to solicit donations at the event to support those in need. The Culture, Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank Agfinity for coming on board as the title sponsor and to the games Co-sponsors: Sports Authority, Sport Clips, Award Alliance, Music Man DJ, Domino’s, TCBY, Wing Shack and the Graphic Edge — it is sure to be a day filled with fun for the whole family.
Twin Rivers Softball Complex hosts adult softball league games 6 days a week. This year, the summer league has 76 all Men’s teams and 59 Mixed teams. Each team lists a minimum of 10 players on their roster, with most teams batting 12 with rosters registering 14+ participants. Each Year Twin Rivers hosts over 1,500 visitors to the complex weekly. In addition, Twin Rivers Ball Fields are home to 19-25 weekend youth and adult tournaments/activities that take place from March-October. Triple Crown Sports hosts their largest annual fast-pitch college showcase tournament in Colorado at Twin Rivers and teams from all over the nation travel to Greeley for the Juniors All-Star game.
