Subject: 2013 Free Walking Tour: Hillside/Farr Neighborhood
The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission invites the public to a walking tour about the Hillside/Farr Neighborhood on Monday, August 5, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. The tour will begin at the Farr Park Shelter in Farr Park, located at 13th Avenue and 26th Street. Participants are encouraged to share stories of the neighborhood, and Greeley Historic Preservation Specialist Betsy Kellums will share about history and architecture in the neighborhood. Call 350.9222 to check accessibility. The event is free and open to the public.
The walking tours provide citizens with a chance to hear about and see interesting sites with historical and cultural significance to Greeley. The 2013 walking tours focus on the University District neighborhoods, and the Historic Preservation Commission invites the public to share stories and memories of the neighborhoods on the tours and learn about the University District and the oral history project. The remaining walking tour schedule for 2013 is as follows:
August 5 Hillside/Farr Neighborhood. Starting location: Farr Park Shelter, Farr Park, 13th Avenue and 26th Street, 6:30 p.m.
September 16 Alles Acres. Starting location: Jackson Elementary School Parking Lot, 2002 25th Street, 5:30 p.m.
