Subject:  Greeley Police Continue to Investigate Homicide
Greeley Police continue the investigation into the homicide that occurred in the 2100 block of 5th Street.  On August 15, 2013 at approximately 6:00 P.M., police responded to a residence after a citizen called 911.  The citizen saw a male inside the house that looked injured.  Greeley Police arrived and found Gumercindo Munoz-Vizcaino (011352) in his home, deceased.
Gumercindo Munoz-Vizcaino is known to his friends and family as Carlos or Carlito.
The cause of death is not yet known, however detectives are treating this as a homicide.  Investigators continue to pursue several leads.  The Greeley Police Department is seeking assistance from the public.  Witnesses have reported observing a group of males in their late teens to early 20’s running from the area on foot where the incident occurred.  The males were seen fleeing the area of the victim’s residence at approximately 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 15th, 2013.   The males fled North from the 2100 block of 5th Street, and then East.
The Greeley Police Department believes this does not appear to be a random act and police do not believe there to be a danger to the general public.
Anyone with information they believe may be helpful to this investigation should contact Investigator John Kinne through the Weld County Communications Center at 350-9600.
