Subject:  Greeley Man Arrested for Stealing Women’s Underwear
Joey Eugene Gallegos, 111873, was arrested on August 1, 2013, for the theft of women’s undergarments from an apartment complex laundry room in the 1800 block of 30th Street.  He was subsequently linked to two separate burglaries in the same apartment complex and is currently in custody at the Weld County Jail facing burglary and theft charges.
Initially, reports were received from two separate victims regarding clothing items being stolen from this location.  Gallegos was identified as a suspect, was arrested, and turned the stolen items over to police.  Officers obtained a search warrant for Gallegos’ residence located in the 1700 block of 30th Street where they recovered over 350 items of women’s clothing, mostly undergarments.  These items are believed to have been stolen from other women who have not yet realized they are missing, or haven’t reported the thefts.
Believing there to be numerous victims in this case, the Greeley Police Department asks that anyone who believes they are missing items to contact Detective Matt Walsh at 970-350-9549.  We are attempting to identify as many items in our evidence facility as possible.
