Historic Meeker Home Museum open for tours Saturday, September 7
The 1870 Meeker Home Museum features the fascinating story of Greeley’s founding family. Follow a costumed tour guide and learn about the Meeker family’s successes and heartbreaking failures on Saturday, September 7, 10 am – 2 pm.
September’s themed tour will focus on Greeley as the Athens of the West and the character of the Union Colony. What did the average person experience as a Union Colony pioneer? How was the community viewed by its neighbors? This talk and tour discusses the lay of the land during the early “colonial” days of Greeley. A costumed tour guide will be leading tours on the hour, every hour.
The Meeker Home is located at 1324 9th Ave. in Greeley. The home is open one Saturday of the month for tours through October. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and $1 for children ages 6 -11.
