Subject:  Police Seek Assistance in Recent Hit and Run Accident
On August 19, 2013, about 8:32 p.m., a lone male bicyclist was riding eastbound in the 6000 block of 4th Street in the outside lane.  As the rider, Stace Agens, 40, started up the steep hill, a large vehicle struck him and his bicycle from behind.  Agens was thrown from the bicycle resulting in serious injuries.  The driver left the scene without stopping.
Police located several items of evidentiary value at the scene and have determined the run vehicle to be an unknown color 2005 – 2007 Dodge pickup or Durango.  It is believed the vehicle has  lower right front end damage, possibly to the black air reflector located under the bumper. It is also possible the vehicle has an after-market smoke-colored plastic lens covering the right headlight that was damaged.
If you have information on a vehicle with the above characteristics, or if you witnessed the accident, please call Officer Joe Timm, 970-351-5367.
