THE NFL’S PUNT, PASS & KICK CONTEST IN GREELEY SENDS KIDS TO SECTIONALS
October 3, 2013 – (Greeley, CO) – The City of Greeley’s Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department hosted the annual National Football League’s Punt, Pass and Kick event on Saturday, September 21 at Monfort Park. The event brought out nearly twenty girls and boys from Greeley to compete against each other in punting, passing and place-kicking in a fun, engaging forum. Six of those that participated did well enough to move on to Sectionals that will be held in Fort Collins October 20th.
The winners at the event were as follows:  (Boys) Lincoln Lyons finished 1st in the 6-7 year old category with a Punt – 62’ 7”, Pass – 40’, Kick – 19’ 8” and a total of 122’ 3” points; Alex Hinz came in 1st in the 8-9 year old group with a Punt – 42’ 3”, Pass – 34’ 9”, Kick – 27’ 3” and a total of 104’ 3” points; and Carson Fagan placed 1st in the 10-11 year old division with a Punt – 78’ 11”, Pass – 87’ 9”, Kick – 67’ 3” and a total of 233’ 11” points;
(Girls) Jacqueline Koopman finished 1st in the 6-7 year old category with a Punt – 12’ 10”, Pass – 22’ 8”, Kick – 20’ 3” and a total of 55’ 9” points; Galilea Lyons came in 1st in the 10-11 year old group with a Punt – 32’ 1”, Pass – 30’, Kick – 47’ 1” and a total of 109’ 2” points; and Kylie Hinz placed 1st in the 12-13 year old division with a Punt – 48’ 9”, Pass – 48’, Kick – 27’ 2” and a total of 123’ 11” points. All of them move on to Sectionals which will be held at Spring Canyon Community Park, located at 2626 W Horsetooth Rd in Fort Collins, on October 20 at 10am. The top four high scorers in each of the 10 age divisions from all 32 Team Championship events advance to the Punt, Pass & Kick (PP&K) National Championships. These 40 winners – along with one guest each – will travel to the PP&K National Championships, which take place at a January NFL playoff game. All winners will be notified with details after Dec. 26, 2013.
