Subject: DISNEY’S MUSICAL ‘BEAUTY AND THE BEAST’ COMING TO GREELEY

The classic tale Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is coming to the Union Colony Civic Center on Tuesday, December 17 at 7 p.m. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, the hit Broadway musical has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide will grace the Monfort Concert Hall stage for one night only.
Many, many children and parents have the songs from "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" etched in their brains. It inspired the creation of Disney's first-ever stage musical, and the live-action version of the story played on Broadway for 13 years and more than 5,000 performances. More than 35 million people worldwide have fallen in love with this classic musical love story.
The story goes as follows: a formerly handsome prince and his castle, due to an unfortunate encounter with a witch, suffer under a magical spell that drains life from its inhabitants and makes some of them more and more like inanimate objects. The prince has been transformed into an unsightly monster. The servants caught up in his plight are his head butler Cogsworth, who is becoming a grandfather clock; the head footman, Lumière, who is changing into a candelabrum; the cook, Mrs. Potts, and her son, Chip, who are turning into a teapot and a chipped teacup.
The curse can be reversed only if someone falls in love with the Beast, despite his hideous appearance. As luck would have it, a smart and beautiful young woman named Belle ends up at the castle looking for her lost father and suddenly there's hope for everyone.
"Disney's Beauty and the Beast is a simple morality tale and love story, told with some of Disney’s most memorable music,” explains Cultural Affairs Manager Jason Evenson, “This is a show the entire family will enjoy, and we encourage everyone to take a break from the hectic holidays and enjoy this terrific show.”
