Ballroom with a Twist coming to Greeley Jan. 30
Includes stars from “Dancing with the Stars,” So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol”
The critically acclaimed international dance production, Ballroom with a Twist, plays at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley for only one performance, Thursday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. Choreographed by ABC-TV’s “Dancing with the Stars” Emmy nominated Louis van Amstel, the Greeley engagement features “Dancing with the Stars” celebrity pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Chelsie Hightower; “So You Think You Can Dance” finalists Randi Lynn Strong, Jonathan Lee “Legacy” Perez and Jonathan Platero; and “American Idol” finalist Gina Glocksen and Von Smith.
“[Ballroom with a Twist] is just like an explosion of dance. And I swear to you, you will not leave the theater without a smile on your face. It’s so exciting,” says “Dancing with the Stars” professional, Peta Murgatroyd, “We have the same crew that goes round and the same cast, but actually the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ people that come in, they always rotate.”
Ballroom with a Twist is an evening of entertainment for the entire family, highlighted by stunning costumes, magnificent music and breathtaking performances that pushes the boundaries of ballroom dance, infusing it with the energy and intensity of the latest contemporary and hip-hop styles. The show brings a frenzy of sizzling dance moves by professional international dancers spanning Samba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Jive. Combined with several top musical hits, Ballroom with a Twist gives audiences thrills with its variety of music providing a concert soundtrack to the evening.
