Subject:   Showerhead Exchange Program in Greeley

Last year, Greeley’s Water Conservation Program presented several successful showerhead exchanges. This project was so well received that more events will happen this year. The City of Greeley will give customers new low-water, high functioning EPA WaterSense labeled showerheads in exchange for older models. To get free showerheads, you must bring your water bill from the City of Greeley Water & Sewer Department and the showerheads you wish to replace. There are several types of showerheads available, including handheld models. Participants can also choose a new showerhead in either chrome or white to match with remaining bathroom fixtures. Greeley water customers can bring old showerheads to the water conservation booth at the following events:

January 25
Winter Farmers' Market
508 8th Avenue
9:00 a.m. to Noon

February 22
Winter Farmers' Market
508 8th Avenue

March 14, 15 & 16
Greeley Tribune Home & Garden Show
Island Grove Park
March 22
Winter Farmers' Market

April 26

According to the EPA, showering accounts for nearly 17 percent of residential indoor water use, or about 30 gallons per household per day. By replacing a showerhead with a WaterSense labeled model, the average family can reduce annual energy and water costs by more than $70 and save 2,900 gallons of water per year—the amount of water it takes to wash more than 70 loads of loads of laundry.
