FREE PARENT/COACH SEMINAR BY WYLIE TO BE HELD MONDAY
The City of Greeley’s Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department in conjunction with the ACE program (Achieving Community Excellence) will be hosting a free parent/coach seminar featuring B. L. Wylie, parent of Olympic figure skater Paul Wylie, next week. The event will be held in Hensel Phelps Theatre on Monday, January 27 at 6pm. Wylie will be speaking about parent and coach relationship building.
Wylie has countless years of coaching and mentoring student athletes and is a founder of the Parent Education Program for the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA). Parents will get ideas on how to support their children as athletes, learning how to maximize their potential. Coaches can glean techniques for connecting with athletes. Attendees will be able to hear her coaching experiences and life lessons.
The event is free and open to all parents and coaches involved with the City of Greeley’s Recreation Division and Weld County School District 6. This is a unique opportunity for parents and coaches to learn some effective methods and positive ways to mentor young athletes. All those involved with youth sports are encouraged to attend.
Hensel Phelps Theatre is located on the second floor of the Greeley Recreation Center, located at 651 10th Avenue in Greeley. For more information, feel free to contact the Greeley Ice Haus at 970.350.9402.
