Subject: Make TODAY Count! Donates Alton Brown Live! Tickets to District 6 Students
The Union Colony Civic Center is proud to announce that the Make TODAY Count! Community Health Campaign has sponsored 77 culinary-inspired students and teachers from Weld County School District 6 to attend Alton Brown Live: The Inevitable Edible Tour, at the Union Colony Civic Center on Wednesday, February 5th.
The campaign is generously providing tickets to the show for the students and teachers so they may have this amazing opportunity to attend and learn from one of the most inventive, creative, and popular culinary art show hosts as he performs in Greeley. Mr. Brown’s unique style of combining the science of why food does what it does, entertaining facts and information, and making ordinary food into extraordinary food is something that creates a learning experience unlike anything else. This is a rare occasion for the students to see firsthand how a live performance ties into their school curriculum.
The MTC campaign staff will visit each of the schools attending the performance to further make the connection between classroom, curriculum, and Mr. Brown’s performance.
Make TODAY Count! is a Weld County community campaign that is working together with local partners to improve well-being, increase healthy eating, and increase active living. MTC is powered by a growing collaboration of individuals, agencies and businesses throughout Colorado’s Weld County. It is supported by a community benefit grant from Kaiser Permanente, and coordinated by the North Colorado Health Alliance.
