Subject: YOUTH COMMISSION TO DELIVER VALENTINES TO BONELL GOOD SAMARITAN
The Greeley Youth Commission will be making Valentine’s Day cards for residents at Bonell Good Samaritan Center this Friday, February 14th from 8am-12pm. After the cards are created, they will be delivering them to senior citizens living at the Bonell campus around 1pm. The activity is one of the community service projects that they will be completing this school year. Members are required to participate in at least 3 projects annually.
The Greeley Youth Commission was established by the Greeley City Council to encourage greater youth participation in the City’s development, and is charged with fostering a greater understanding of youth concerns and contributions in our community.
The Youth Commission is composed of 11 youth ranging in age from 11 to 18. Commissioners are appointed by the City Council after completing an application and interviewing with the City Council members. Commissioners serve a two-year term and may re-apply until they are 18 years of age. They must be committed to attend ALL scheduled meetings of the Commission and follow the official requirements which are to:
• Participate in at least 3 Commission established projects
• Individual conduct that will reflect positively upon the Commission
• Willingness to represent the Commission at public meetings/events
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills and work ethic
• Be a positive role model for the youth of the community
The Greeley Youth Commission meets at the Rodarte Community Center on the fourth Monday of
