Subject: Suspicious Couple at Greeley Daycare
The Greeley Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident that occurred at a local daycare center yesterday, February 10, 2014. A couple with a young child entered the Sunshine Daycare in the 2100 block of 16th Street and attempted to pick up a female child. The couple was unknown to the daycare staff and said the child’s mother had asked them to pick her up.
The couple only knew the child’s first name and the daycare had no record of anyone, other than the parents, approved to pick up the child. As staff members attempted to contact the parents for approval, the couple commented that they had the wrong daycare and left the building.
The staff members described the male suspect as a white male in his early to mid 30's around 5’09” to 5’10” tall, weighing 175-210 pounds with dark brown or black hair, wearing a black coat and jeans. The female with him was white, also in her early to mid 30's, 5’07” to 5’08”, 140-160 pounds, dark blonde or light brown hair in a ponytail, gray sweater or black coat. The child with them was described as being a white female with dark blonde or light brown hair, wearing a blue jacket or shirt, and between 2 and 5 years of age.
Anyone who may have any information about this investigation is asked to contact the Greeley Police Department non-emergency number, 970-350-9600.
