Arrest of Burglary Suspect in Brentwood Neighborhood 


At about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 22, 2011 Greeley Police responded to the 2300 block of 25th Street Road on report of a burglary that had just occurred.  Officers cordoned the area off, set a perimeter and soon observed a male that matched the description of the suspect carrying a backpack walking down the street about a block and a half away. 

Officers attempted contact and the suspect fled on foot.  A short foot chase through yards resulted in the capture of the suspect and recovery of property reported missing in the burglary in the backpack he was carrying.  Additional property in the backpack included driver’s licenses, credit cards, CD’s, sunglasses, cell phones, cameras, binoculars, and cash in coins and paper money. 

An intensive investigation conducted over the past two days has resulted in the suspect being booked on the following charges:

2’ Burglary (Dwelling)  Felony 3   (2 counts)
1’ Vehicle Theft  Felony 5
1’ Criminal Trespass  Felony 5   (4 counts)
Identity Theft   Felony 4   (5 counts)
Possession Burglary Tools Felony 6
Theft    Misd. 1     (4 counts)
Criminal Mischief  Misd. 1    
Parole Violation  Hold – No Bond
Warrant – State of Virginia   No Bond – Burglary Charge

The suspect was found to be on Parole for burglary, and had an active warrant out of Virginia Beach, Virginia for burglary, as well.

The suspect is identified as:

Richard Albert Fleming, Jr.    DOB   070878
Evans, Colorado
