On Friday, April 13, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Weld County Communication Center received a call of shots fired in the 1400 block of 10th St. Officers arrived and found a victim inside a residence with 3 gunshot wounds to the leg.
The victim and five friends were in the home when a group of gang members who were hanging out in the area confronted them and attempted to start a fight with them.
The victim and the friends went inside the apartment and few minutes later an unknown suspect(s) fired numerous shots from a handgun into the apartment through the living room window. The victim was transported to North Colorado Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
