May 14, 2012 (Greeley, CO) – The Rodarte Community Center’s boxing program is in dire need of volunteer trainers. Boxing has been a key component of the youth and adult programming at the Rodarte Community Center for years. Their program has lead several boxers to national recognition, such as Ricky Rodriguez and Tara Weisshaar who recently competed in the 2012 USA Boxing National Championships. Read more...

April 13, 2012 (Greeley, CO) – April 13, 2012 (Greeley, CO) – The Youth Enrichment Division of the Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department will honor eight students and one group this year during the National Youth Service Day Awards. This annual event acknowledges Greeley youth that has been nominated by a community member for their volunteer service. National Youth Services Day Awards are designed to broaden national, regional and local recognition of the power of youth service. The purpose of this day is to reinforce to young Americans the importance and the excitement of helping others. Locally, awards are given to young people between the ages of 11-18, individuals or groups, who have performed volunteer service in the Greeley community. Read more...

April 4, 2012 (Greeley, CO) – The Rodarte Community Center boxers are on the move. Four participants in the Rodarte Boxing Program (Tara Wesshaar, Ricky Rodriguez, Gonzalo Rodriguez Jr. and Tyler Barelet) competed last month in the state Gold Gloves Tournament March 5-9 in Denver, Colorado – many taking first place!
