Announcements: Landscaping and Design Workshop – July 24

Title

Landscaping and Design Workshop – July 24

Body

The City of Greeley Water Conservation Program and the High-Plains Library District together present Landscaping in the 21st Century Series this summer. Monthly programs are held on Wednesday evenings between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Farr Regional Library at 1939 61st Avenue. Ruth Quade, Greeley’s Water Conservation Coordinator, will present at each of these events. All of the workshops are free and open to the public. Weld County Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions

The next workshop, taking place on July 24, is on Landscaping and Design. This session will help you start a landscape plan and what you should keep in mind when developing your design. It will help you choose plants and find the ideal conditions under which it thrives. These conditions have to do with the availability of sunlight, yearly temperature ranges, soil type, soil drainage, and water needs. Proper planning will increase efficiency and create a lower maintenance landscape. Feel free to bring your drawings, photos and questions.

The final event in this series is a composting workshop on August 28. You can watch the first two workshops in the series online:

  • Lawn Installation Workshop (presentation handout)
