Will the election be conducted at polling places or by mail? The election will be conducted as a mail ballot election. This means that all eligible electors will receive their ballot by mail from the Weld County Clerk & Recorder. The ballots will be mailed out October 12-19, 2009.
What will be on Greeley's portion of the ballot? Greeley's ballot includes candidates for the position of Mayor and Councilmembers, in addition to two ballot questions. Who is eligible to vote in the Greeley election?
All Greeley residents that are registered to vote. To be eligible to register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years of age by election day, and be a resident of Greeley at least 30 days before the election.

If you are unsure of your registration status, you may check your information via the Colorado Secretary of State's web site, to check information online, or if you need to change any information such as your address or other voter information, call the Weld County Election Division at (970) 304-6525.
When is the last day to register to vote for the November 3rd election?
October 5, 2009.
When will ballots be available for pickup or replacement?
If you do not receive a mail ballot in the mail or need a replacement, they will be available for pickup or replacement from the following locations, October 12th thorough November 2nd, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:
- Weld County Election Office - 1401 North 17th Avenue, Greeley CO
- Southwest Weld Office - 4209 County Road 24 1/2, Longmont CO
- Southeast Weld Office - 2950 9th Street, Fort Lupton CO
On election day, ballots will be available for pickup or replacement at the above locations from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and must be in the hands of the County Clerk by 7:00 p.m. to be counted.
When will the election results be known?
Usually, initial election results are known within a couple of hours after the polls close. If there is a significant number of provisional ballots needing further processing, the final results may not be known for several days.
When will the newly elected Councilmembers take office?
The newly elected Councilmembers will take office one week following the election. A transition meeting, a formal shift from the current Council to the newly-elected Council, will take place on Tuesday, November 10th at 6:00 p.m. If there is a tie or the results of provisional ballots are needed to determine the race, then the oath of office would be delayed only for the affected position. |
