With these announcements, we are appreciating the good work of our residents, showing support for their efforts, and encouraging everyone to share the word that Greeley is Great.

University of Northern Colorado#1 Big Sky Graduation Success Rate

University of Northern Colorado SignCongratulations to University of Northern Colorado student-athletes for leading the Big Sky Conference in academic success. The award is based on the NCAA graduation success rates, for the 4th consecutive year.  UNC recorded a 90% rate of all student-athletes graduating within six years of enrolling.

Best Western Champion Design Award
The Best Western Greeley has received the Best Western Champion Design Award, an honor recognizing properties that demonstrate exemplary levels of design, service, and support of the brand. The Best Western Greeley was one of only five hotels in North America to qualify for the award.

Rocky Mountain Workforce Development Association: Recognizes Workforce Board & Participant
The Rocky Mountain Workforce Development Association, a nonprofit agency partnering with state and local workforce areas, has recognized two Workforce Development Board members and one Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act participant. Weld County Workforce employee, Sylvia Robinson, has been named a Workforce Ambassador. Lisa Taylor, executive director of the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado, has earned recognition for excellence in customer service for her efforts to translate COVID-19 information. Abigail Guana, a youth participant has been selected by the U.S. Department of Labor to be part of a national panel to discuss the positive impact of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

McAuliffe STEM Academy K-8 National STEM Certified School

McAuliffe S.T.E.M. Academy K-8 School has been named a National S.T.E.M. Certified School by the National Institute for STEM Education, becoming only the 3rd school in Colorado and the 40th in the nation to reach this milestone. In addition, ten McAuliffe teachers have become Nationally S.T.E.M. Certified, completing approximately 80 hours of work to meet 38 indicators. 

Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year

Greeley Evans School District 6 adapted physical education teacher, Judy Smaic, has been named as the 2021 SHAPE America Central District teacher of the year by the Society of Health and Physical Educators.

Cheerleader Coach of the Year

Greeley West High School Cheer coach Brodie Subia has been named the 2019-2020 Cheerleader Coach of the Year by the Colorado High School Coaches Association.

Colorado School Nurse Administrator of the Year

Congratulations to Greeley-Evans School District Six Health Services Coordinator, Lori McCarty, for being named the Colorado School Nurse Administrator of the Year by the Colorado Association of School Nurses.

Greeley Central Softball Les Schwab Tire Center Team of the Month
The Greeley Central softball team has been named the Les Schwab Tire Centers athletics team of the month. Great work in the classroom and on the field.
