The City of Greeley will be replacing a stormwater pipe on 23rd Avenue near the Highway 34 Bypass. The project is planned to begin on January 9, although this date is dependent on weather and other factors. Construction is expected to last about 28 days. One lane in each direction will be open at all times.
The condition of the drainage system is in poor condition and is in need of repair. In the summer of 2015, the failing stormwater pipes caused a sinkhole in 23rd Avenue.
