As we mark the beginning of summer this Memorial Day, why not do something fun that the whole family will enjoy? The City of Greeley’s Culture, Parks and Recreation Department will be opening their two outdoor pools and two splash parks on Monday, May 29. The Greeley Recreation Center, Family FunPlex and Greeley Ice Haus will be open for swimming, ice skating, rock climbing, you name it! So there’s no excuse not to come out and play with us! Please note, the Greeley Senior Activity Center (1010 6th Street) and the Rodarte Community Center (920 A Street) will be closed in observance of the holiday,

If you haven’t been yet, Discovery Bay (715 E. 24th Street) should be on your bucket list. This outdoor waterpark is sure to delight those young and old with its zero depth area, lazy river, activity pool, splash pad and 30 foot slide, there’s something for everyone! Open May 29 through August 20, Monday-Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Centennial Pool (2315 Reservoir Road) hours are Monday-Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Be sure to check out all the special events planned this summer at the pools – we’re bringing back the ‘Swim In’ Movie Theater. Both Splash Parks are free to use; Sunrise Splash Park hours are Monday-Sunday from 1-4pm, and Island Grove Splash Park is open from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Registration is also underway for swim lessons at all City pools – deadline is June 1 to sign up, so don’t delay!

Be sure to check out the extended public skate sessions and camps at the Greeley Ice Haus too! They’re open Monday through Friday noon to 2:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 1:30 p.m. beginning May 29.
