The Rodarte Community Center, part of the Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department with the City of Greeley, will host the 25th Annual Community Christmas Party on Saturday, December 13 from 10am-2pm. This year’s event is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente who generously donated $10,000 for the purchase of gifts to be distributed to area youth.
The party will include a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus; kids will enjoy holiday treats, make a festive craft and youth ages 10 and under will also receive a Christmas gift. Volunteers from UNC’s Swim Team, UNC’s Men’s & Women’s Soccer Club, Jefferson High School and various other community members spent hours last week wrapping the presents. “It was really overwhelming having so many excited people come help out” said Brecken Arnold, Recreation Supervisor with the Youth Enrichment Division. “Due to the overwhelming support from our generous community, all 2,200 presents have been wrapped and are ready one week ahead of schedule for our Community Christmas Party. I want to personally thank everyone who came out and donated their time.
The event will be held at the Rodarte Community Center, located at 920 A Street in Greeley, and is free. For more information, please call 970.350.9430.
