Kevin Hartley, Water Conservation Specialist
The City of Greeley’s Water Conservation program provides indoor water audits to residences and business in the community. Indoor water audits are free to all Greeley water customers. A water conservation specialist comes to your property to:
- seek out leaks and other unintended uses of water
- look for high water use appliances
- provide new fixtures, such as showerheads and aerators
- suggest repairs or upgrades
- recommend a sprinkler system audit for next spring/summer
There are three different types of audits available.
This service was created to help residents save water, lower bills and improve household efficiency. All homes could benefit from an audit, but homes that are more than 20 years old will see the most savings. If you often exceed your water budget, an audit is also recommended.
Multifamily and Rental Properties
Landlords and property managers are encouraged to schedule audits in all of their properties. After the audit, opportunities for large-scale toilet replacement projects are available to participants. Past projects have drastically reduced water use and costs for apartment buildings.
Commercial, industrial or institutional properties are eligible for audits and rebates. Businesses with high water needs such as restaurants, hotels, hair salons, laundries, medical clinics and health clubs may find ways to reduce water and energy bills during an audit. Institutions such as schools, daycares, and churches are also good candidates for audits. Rebates are available on many products that can benefit a particular type of business.
Please call 970-336-4228 to schedule an indoor water audit. More information and an online sign-up form are available at greeleygov.com/audits.
