Greeley’s Water Conservation program is once again offering its popular Landscape Lecture Series. The goal of the workshops is to promote sustainable landscape practices in the community. Each event is scheduled on the last Wednesday of the month beginning at 6 p.m. The location for all the upcoming events is the Family FunPlex, 1501 65th Avenue.

August 30: Rain Barrel 101 Workshop
Since last August, the State of Colorado allows homeowners to collect rainwater with rain barrels. Come learn about the rules and regulations. Find out how to do it right so you do not encourage mosquitos or other problems. This program presented by Tyler Dell from Colorado State University.

September 27: Compost: How and How Not
This class will explain the art and science of composting. Topics include how to get started, essential tools, types of bins and piles, and troubleshooting problems. The class will also feature handouts of simple bins to build and ways to do it on a budget.

The classes are free, but RSVPs are required, because space is limited. Please visit greeleygov.com/LandscapeLectures to reserve your seat and to get additional information.
