16th Street Enhancement Project

03/24/2022 Update:

Thank you all for your help, input, and feedback

Greeley officials are evaluating information collected from:

  • Public meetings,
  • The online survey
  • Stakeholder engagement

Project officials will use that information to help determine the best options, features, and design for this enhancement project.

After that, we will share that—and how the feedback impacted it—with you here.

Project Background

City of Greeley Project officials started the conceptual design process for improvements to 16th Street from 7th Avenue to 11th Avenue.

Construction is planned in 2023.

There are currently a lack of adequate multimodal facilities in the project area. This section of 16th Street is on the edge of the downtown area and on the northern side of the University of Northern Colorado campus. It needs to support varied forms of transportation—and currently it does that inconsistently.

In many locations, bike facilities are non-existent, and sidewalks are narrow with no buffer between the roadway and the fronts of buildings. Aesthetic urban design components and landscaping are sparse and do not follow a consistent theme.
