University of Northern Colorado: International Business Ethics & Sustainability Competition
Four students from the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business took first in two categories at the
International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition. The students made three presentations related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, a global partnership whose aim includes ending poverty, improving health and education, reducing inequality, spurring economic growth, and addressing climate change. Their presentations, titled Vale Mining Company: Behind the Economic and Environmental Veil, involved the legal, financial, and ethical dimensions of the problem; a recommended, viable solution; and sustainability issues.
Local Hive: Best of Show – American Advertising FederationLocal Hive in Greeley, formerly Rice’s Honey, has been awarded eight creative awards, including “Best of Show,” by the
American Advertising Federation. Award categories included logo, packaging, print campaign, and Best Brand Makeover. Local Hive won the most awards of any brand in the competition.
Colorado Nurses Association Colorado Nightingale Luminary AwardThe
Colorado Nurses Association has recognized Banner Health nurse Julianne Fritz as a Colorado Nightingale Luminary Award winner for Leadership in Nursing Profession. Julianne is the regional director of oncology services at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Greeley West High School 4A Boys Swim & Dive State ChampionsCongratulations to the Greeley West boys swim team for winning the
Class 4A state title. This is the first-ever boys swimming title ever for West.
State Boards & Commissions AppointmentsColorado Governor Polis has appointed Lesley Clark Brooks, MD, of Greeley to serve as a doctor of medicine on the Colorado Medical Board which reviews applications for medical licenses. And has appointed Deborah Anne Suniga to serve as a non-attorney and as a Democrat from the Fourth Congressional District for the Supreme Court Nominating Commission. Congratulations to both!
