Rankings and Recognitions

We like to recognize all the things that make Greeley a thriving community: student athletic and academic achievements; positive partnerships between businesses and schools; national rankings; and local, state and national awards earned by our non-profit, civic, business and government workers.

These recognitions aren't a pat on the back from locals to locals; rather, they're awards and kudos given from outside the community to those in Greeley who deserve it.

Greeley has been ranked #3 on Mile High CRE’s list of "Top 5 Cities to Rent High End in Colorado”. Using apartment data provided by Yardi Matrix and apartment data for more than 600 cities. The list reveals where renters can find luxury apartments with generous square footage, in a desirable location, at a great price.

The Apartments at Maddie: 2021 Governor’s Awards for Downtown Excellence

Congratulations to The Apartments at Maddie for winning the Best of Projects category in the 2021 Governor’s Awards for Downtown Excellence.

Sunrise Community Health 2021 Outstanding Migrant Health Center
The National Association of Community Health Centers has recognized Sunrise Community Health with the 2021 Outstanding Migrant Health Center AwardThe health center was selected from among 1,400 fellow community and migrant health centers.

Weld County Dept. Human Services: 2020 C-Stat Distinguished Performance

The Weld County Department of Human Services (DHS) has been awarded the 2020 C-Stat Distinguished Performance Award by The Colorado Department of Human Services in recognition of the county’s superior efforts to adequately serve its residents. The Distinguished Performance Award recognizes counties that are timely, safe and accurate in work and meeting goals.

University of Northern Colorado: NCAA Division I – Board of Directors

University of Northern Colorado President Andy Feinstein has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Board of Directors. Mr. Feinstein will join the board this summer and work with other university leaders to oversee and direct Division I institutions related to sport administration, long-range planning and championship events.

University of Northern Colorado: Professor wins 7th Fulbright award
Only two professors in the United States have won seven Fulbright awards, and one of them works at the University of Northern Colorado. Karen Barton is a first-generation scholar with a Ph.D in Geography. She has been awarded the Fulbright Hays Fellowship, funded by Fulbright Hays and the Department of Education, for an upcoming research project in Mexico — her seventh such distinction. The mission of Fulbright is to improve intercultural relations, cultural diplomacy and intercultural competence between the American people of the United States and other countries.

University of Northern Colorado: Fulbright Scholar Award

David Lerach, Ph.D., an associate professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado an expert on thunderstorms and cloud physics has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Award to study how pollution in the northern Italian Alps may impact precipitation patterns across the region, and more specifically, how much precipitation falls, where it falls and whether it’s being shifted between different watersheds.

University Poms 3A Poms State Champions
Congratulations to the University poms team for winning the Class 3A poms state title. This is the Bulldog’s third state title in the past five state spirit competitions.

University of Northern Colorado: Big Sky Champions
Northern Colorado track and field brought some hardware back to Greeley from the Big Sky Championship for the men and womenFreshman Welre Olivier earned the Big Sky Championship triple jump title, despite it not being his best performance this year. And, the women’s 1600 meter (4x400) relay squad also earned a gold medal with a time of 3 minutes, 44.3 seconds.
