The City of Greeley’s Private Activity Bond strategy to address affordable housing is beginning to pay off.  For the past 2 years, we have assigned our PAB allocation to the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority are seeing some exciting results!  

Greeley EHH along with Economic Development Organizations and Chambers of Commerce in Larimer and Weld County have been working together to support our businesses throughout the pandemic and into economic recovery.

Weld’s Way Home is a county-wide plan for maximizing resources dedicated to serving those who are homeless.

Greeley has a long history of investing in its water future. The foresight and diligence of past city leaders and water pioneers has ensured that Greeley remains in a position to continuing to plan for, and secure Greeley's water needs. 

One of Greeley's top industries is construction. The Economic Development team has been exploring the growth potential of Greeley’s top industry sectors.

Tax Increment Financing (TIF) is a tool used by municipal governments to stimulate economic development in targeted geographical areas. TIF Districts offer a strategy for municipalities to “self-finance” a redevelopment project without having to raise or impose new taxes.

The City  of Greeley annually receives two federal grants to assist with community development and the needs of low-and-moderate-income residents. Part of the City’s responsibilities in accepting these grants is to report on progress made toward its identified goals and to demonstrate how funds were utilized in the community. 

Several resources are available including: the A Safe Place To Be: 5-Star Certification Program, Greeley Area Recovery Fund and the Weld County Service Industry Relief Fund. 

Milken Institute’s 2021 Best-Performing Cities - Foundations for Growth and Recovery report was recently released and Greeley is ranked 43 out of 400 cities nationally. Greeley was also in the top 50 in last year’s ranking.

A fourth quarter Regional Economic Development Initiative Survey Report was recently released. This survey helped uncover the state of business in Northern Colorado from the perspective of local businesses.  

The City of Greeley received a $423,374 grant from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HOME Investment Partnership Program.  This helped the city to add much needed affordable rental housing. 

Metal-fabrication company, EMIT Technologies, recently opened a new 46,600 square-feet facility in southeast Greeley. It brings about 40 new jobs to the city.

The Greeley Economic Health and Housing Department completed another round of Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) Visits in 2020, and are happy to share our summary findings.

The City of Greeley has received positive regional media coverage on our creative solution to cold weather sheltering for the homeless.

The Greeley Urban Renewal Authority administers the City’s federal funds that provide assistance to low-moderate-income neighborhoods.

The Greeley Area Recovery Fund and Weld County Service Industry Relief Fund provides grants and financial assistance to local businesses.

Hartland Forward has released their second annual rankings of America's most economically dynamic cities in this year's Most Dynamic Metropolitans report. We are excited and proud to share that that Greeley was ranked #8 among the top 30 nationwide. The City of Greeley anchors the Greeley MSA. 

The G-HOPE program is a down payment assistance program initiated in 2015 to promote homeownership in the redevelopment area by employees of the major employers in this area.
