The City of Greeley has begun the process of selecting a contractor to design and build the new playground at Anna Gimmestad. Ideas and input from the recent playground survey will help guide the contractor as they create a new and innovative space for all. Below are some examples of what we heard from residents.

FAQ

Q: What is being done? Why?

A: The existing playground equipment and safety surfacing will be removed. New playground equipment will be installed in the existing footprint. The City of Greeley budgets for regular upgrades to aging amenities in our neighborhood parks. The upgrades planned for the playground at Anna Gimmestad Park will provide users with a more enjoyable park experience.

Q: Is the playground size shrinking or getting larger?

A: The new playground will be in the same location as the existing one and will have the same overall size. However, the playground will likely feel larger since more features will be added to fully utilized the existing footprint.

A: Yes. Construction will be limited to the playground area. Other sidewalks and open space in the park will not be affected.

Q: How long is construction going to last?

A: Construction is planned to begin in late Fall of 2022.  Construction is expected to take 2-3 weeks, depending on the weather.
