2019 G.Town Tours
The City of Greeley announces the 2019 line-up of free tours to acquaint residents and visitors with special aspects of the community that they might not otherwise know much about. City staff and volunteers will guide participants through various sites and share “inside” information to expand residents’ knowledge about and appreciation for Greeley’s many assets. Participants will travel between sites by foot or on City buses; all tours include some walking so comfortable shoes are recommended. G.Town Tours are approximately 3 hours in length but registration is required to reserve a space.
The first tour of the year will take place on May 9th from 3 to 6 p.m. and is a “City Hall Crawl”. This tour will take participants by bus and on-foot through the following City facilities: Greeley Fire Station No. 1, the Union Colony Civic Center, the Rodarte Community Center, and Greeley City Hall.
Other tours include:
- Taste of 16th Street – June 21 – 3 to 6 p.m. (walking tour)
- UNC Historic Architecture – August 19 – 6:30 to 8 p.m. (walking tour)
- Haunts and Undergrounds – September 12 – 4 to 7 p.m. (walking tour)
- Haunts and Undergrounds – September 26 – 4 to 7 p.m. (walking tour)
- Conoce Greeley (bilingual tour) – October 24 – 9 a.m. to noon (bus and walking tour)
The age of the buildings and challenges of the terrain make some tours more accessible than others. If you need accommodations, certain tours may better suited for your needs. Please note that due to the overwhelming popularity of the G.Town Tours, each registrant will only be able to register for one tour; any additional tour requests will be wait-listed and offered upon availability.
