7th Avenue Construction Begins May 13
Monday begins seven months of construction along 7th Avenue from 13th Street to 16th Street as the City improves water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities and repaves the road.
Road closures start near 13th Street and move south toward 16th Street. Construction work is scheduled until mid-November. The improvements will cause phased road closures through stretches of 7th Avenue and short, planned utility outages during specific periods. Construction crews will inform properties in advance of planned outages.
This work takes place in conjunction with sanitary sewer replacements near 7th Avenue and 14th, 15th and 17th streets.
The project replaces and upsizes the city’s stormwater, water distribution, and sanitary sewer systems. The work also relocates several non-city utilities such as gas, electric and communication lines. The final phase replaces the asphalt road surface, and concrete curb and gutter.
Existing work on non-city utilities and non-city developments in the area will continue alongside this project.
