Annual American Girl Doll Skate takes on Masquerade theme at the Greeley Ice Haus
The annual American Girl Doll Skate at the Greeley Ice Haus this year will feature a masquerade theme. This treasured event will be Saturday, January 18 from noon to 2 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own masks at the event, in addition to receiving a free ice skating lesson with their favorite doll!
The Greeley Ice Haus has hosted this event since 2009. “Our community loves the American Girl Doll Skate and it is so fun to see kids come with their dolls to ice skate,” said Ice Haus Coordinator, Carla Villavicencio. “We have girls come dressed alike in matching outfits with their American Girl doll, it really is adorable! They have a wonderful afternoon of fun with friends; many of the girls come year after year.” New to the event this year, will be a doll collection display by Second Childhood Doll and Miniature Club that attendees can view.
The Ice Haus will continue their tradition of doing prize giveaways and a drawing for the American Girl Doll of the year. The 2020 American Girl doll is Joss Kendrick, who loves surfing! “Joss is a fierce surfer girl who never backs down from a challenge – even if it means taking a chance on something new, like trying out for cheer,” describes the American Girl website. “Joss is hard of hearing, and often misses the count. She’s determined to prove herself as a cheerleader and a surfer girl and realizes that an all-in attitude and an open mind might help her fly higher than ever before.”
Admission to the American Girl Doll Skate is $6 plus $3 skate rental. All activities are included in the admission price. For more information, call 970-350-9402 or visit GreeleyIceHaus.com. The Greeley Ice Haus is located at 900 8th Avenue in historic downtown Greeley.
