Annual Fishing Derby Returns to Sanborn Park June 1
The City of Greeley’s Annual Fishing Derby returns on Saturday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to noon, thanks in part to Envirotech and the Colorado Division of Wildlife. The event is free to the public, so grab your fishing pole and tackle and join us at Sanborn Park, located at 28th Avenue and 20th Street.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., arrive early for some fun giveaways. Be sure to look for the Greeley Recreation tent to sign-up. Fishing licenses are not necessary to participate, as June 1-2 is a free fishing weekend in Colorado. Greeley Recreation Staff will be giving away prizes every half an hour throughout the day at their tent near the playground. The Colorado Division of Wildlife will stock the lake with fresh trout in advance. There will be ample fishing opportunities for everyone.
