Art + Law Greeley Workshops Scheduled
In partnership with the Greeley Creative District and Colorado Creative Industries (CCI), Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) is hosting a full day of arts-related legal workshops, Art + Law Greeley, on Tuesday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mirage Productions, 924 8th Ave, Greeley 80631.
This event is part of CBCA’s Colorado Attorneys for the Arts (CAFTA) program. CAFTA is a statewide legal referral service that connects artists and arts entities to pro bono legal services, as well as provides legal education for the creative industries.
The morning session at Art + Law Greeley will include a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) workshop for lawyers called “You Can Help Artists, Too! What You Need to Know About Counseling Creatives,” led by Dave Ratner with Creative Law Network. Attorneys who participate in this class can receive two CLE credits.
The afternoon session is designed for artists, creative professionals and creative entities. This interactive presentation will cover common legal issues in the arts sector, such as copyright law, business entities, licensing and contracts. It will be led by Dave Ratner and Dave Rein with Erickson Kernell IP.
In addition, event registration includes lunch from Luna’s Tacos and Tequila, live jazz music from Jenna McLean, an opportunity to learn more about programs and resources from CBCA, CCI and Greeley Creative District, and a casual happy hour at the end.
