Bears PAY It Forward on Saturday
Students from the University of Northern Colorado are doing a community service event for the City of Greeley on Saturday, April 6. From 9 a.m. until noon, UNC Bears will be out in force to help University District residents clean their yards, gardens and flowerbeds.
The Greeley Neighborhood Resource Office focused on residents within the University District boundaries. Neighbors nominated University District residents who could use the students’ help. To focus homes in those particular neighborhoods, nominations were taken via Nextdoor.
Student volunteers are also assisting with to clean-up of a couple of community natural areas, Gateway Lakes Natural Area at Homestead Park (3701 29th St.) and McCloskey Natural Area (1212 71st Ave.).
“We are so lucky to have UNC students willing and able to help residents with their spring cleanup. This event brings good cheer and builds lasting goodwill between students and their permanent neighbors.” Says, Deb DeBoutez, Neighborhood Program Specialist for the City of Greeley.
