City of Greeley to Open Sunrise Splash Park June 15

Following new guidance from state public health officials, the City of Greeley will open Sunrise Splash Park, 325 12th St., starting Monday, June 15, from noon to 4 p.m. daily.

The city’s second splash park located at Island Grove Regional Park, 302 N. 14th Ave., remains closed for ongoing site improvements. Officials hope to re-open the splash park by June 20th.

City staff do not sanitize equipment or facilities – including seating and picnic areas. Park restrooms will open during splash park hours only.

Greeley officials believe with the right procedures, the community can start using this recreation resource. Visitors should bring adequate water and hand sanitizer and avoid groups of 10 or more people.

Anyone with COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms — a fever, cough, or shortness of breath — should not enter or use city facilities including splash parks.

Officials encourage people to enjoy Greeley’s general park areas, trails, trailheads and the outdoors as a part of Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors while following state and federal guidance by wearing cloth masks, practicing social distancing, and other CDC-recommended precautions.
