GREELEY, Colo. — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest federal disaster loans to help small businesses and private nonprofits in Greeley and Weld County who have been impacted by the ongoing drought that began on November 1, 2024.
These loans are available through the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program and are designed to support everyday expenses for organizations that lost income due to the drought. Even if there wasn’t any physical damage, businesses and nonprofits that experienced a financial hit may still qualify.
Loan funds can help pay for:
Small businesses, private nonprofits, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and PNPs with financial losses directly related to the disaster can apply. Please not that the SBA is unable to provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers, or ranchers, except for small aquaculture enterprises.
Eligible businesses can borrow up to $2 million. Interest rates are as low as 4% for small businesses and 3.625% for nonprofits, with payment plans lasting up to 30 years. Loan payments won’t start until 12 months after the first payment is made, giving organizations time to recover.
