East Memorial Community Participation Solicited by Parks Division
The City of Greeley Parks Division, along with the Colorado Health Foundation have the goal of engaging our children and adults to become active users of our public parks by activating play and improving their overall health. It is a well-known fact that active outdoor play is an essential part of the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development in children.
East Memorial neighborhood residents are invited by the City of Greeley to participate in the first of three community events. The first “Idea Jamming” takes place on Saturday, April 27 at Balsam Field, 2400 Balsam Ave. – north area from 1:30 to 4:30 pm and on Sunday, April 28 at Delta Park, 200 E. 24th Street, from 1:30 to 4:30pm.
The Play East Greeley, Idea Jamming event purpose is to capture ideas from neighborhood children and adults about what they want to see in their public parks. East Memorial neighbors can participate in the free activities, family oriented play and interactive sessions. Snacks, refreshments, drawings and more will be at hand. The second and third events will have different activities for the community to participate.
“This is a great opportunity for activating all family members and help design your community parks. Let your children hold the designing pen” commented Lorena Fuentes Ibanez, Healthy Neighborhood Coordinator for the City of Greeley Parks Division. “It is super important that community members attend this type of event and share their play ideas,” concluded Fuentes Ibanez.
