Greeley's Wastewater Plant Wins National Recognition
The Greeley Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility received a National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Peak Performance Silver Award in October 2020.
The association awards this honor to agencies who achieved excellence in operational performance and permit compliance.
Greeley’s Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility treats wastewater that meets or exceeds EPA and the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment requirements. The plant treats and discharges more than 7 million gallons of water into the Poudre River daily. The water is safe for fish and aquatic life inhabiting the river and for pets and humans who contact it during recreational activities.
Like all other treatment facilities in Colorado, Greeley's treatment facility is undergoing significant facility modifications and upgrades to meet more stringent nutrient regulations required by the State Health Department and EPA to guide our next phase of facility construction. Construction begins in November 2020 and will continue through 2022.
