The City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) announced the 2019 winners of its national Savvy Awards Competition during a ceremony in Denver on Thursday, Sept. 5. The City of Greeley Communication & Engagement Department won three awards in this annual competition.
The branding work for AgriCULTURE Feast at the Village received a Silver Circle (second place) in the Graphic Design–Art 76,000+ population category. This project included a new logo, a save the date card, flyer, poster, event program, menu, social media graphics, and a series of six banners that were hung at the event. One judge commented, “Beautiful logo and design! This entry was a feast for the judges eyes.”
Another Silver Circle was awarded for the 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day event marketing materials which featured a new, updated look for the event, poster, flyer, social media graphics, and website graphics. The judges said, “Great use of color and modern fonts to connect with the target audience for this event.”
The zany ‘You Otto Know’ series won 3rd place in the Video-Regularly Scheduled Programming category. The video series features Greeley City Manager, Roy Otto covering City of Greeley programs and events in a fun and unique way. The videos are broadcast on GTV8, Facebook, and YouTube. The judges commented, “The series is a joy to watch, very clever and informative!”
More than 700 entries in 40 categories were submitted and judged. 3CMA utilized volunteer judges from across the United States to review every entry and provide constructive comments on the winning entries.
The Savvy Awards, held in conjunction with 3CMA’s Annual Conference, recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. The Savvies salute skilled and effective city, county, agency or district professionals who have creatively planned and carried out successful innovations in communications and marketing.
