Greeley Ice Haus Annual American Girl Doll Skate features Australian Outback theme

2019AmericanGirlDollSkate

The annual American Girl Doll Skate at the Greeley Ice Haus features an Australian Outback theme this year, commemorating the 2021 American Girl Doll of the Year – Kira Bailey™ a ten year old from Michigan, with a passion for wildlife animals.

This beloved event takes place on Saturday, April 24, offers participants the opportunity to share with their friends and favorite dolls an ice skating adventure, a group skating lesson, and kangaroo craft.

“This annual event will have a little different feel this year,” said Ice Haus Coordinator, Carla Villavicencio. “In keeping with current COVID-19 precautions and promoting social distancing, we will have four sessions participants can choose from to attend the event: 12-1pm, 1:30-2:30pm, 3-4pm or 4:30-5:30pm, for a maximum of 50 guests each session, masks will also be required.”

Online registration will operate on a first come, first served basis beginning April 1.

“We wanted to keep this tradition alive and still offer this event, with as many people as possible given the limitations of the number of skaters we can currently have on the ice,” Villavicencio said. “The kids truly enjoy this event and we felt that they needed something to look forward to after all the changes that they’ve experienced this past year due to the pandemic.”

The Ice Haus will continue to offer a drawing for the American Girl Doll of the year, however, this year it will take place virtually. The 2021 American Girl Doll of the Year – Kira Bailey enjoys fostering kittens and volunteers at her local animal shelter. She’s thrilled to spend part of her summer helping animals in Australia at the family wildlife sanctuary and vet clinic with her mom and great aunts. Officials will announce the winner of the doll will be announced live on Facebook.com/GreeleyRec when the event ends at 6 p.m.

Admission to the American Girl Doll Skate costs $6 plus $3 skate rental. For more information, call 970-350-9402 or visit GreeleyIceHaus.com. The Greeley Ice Haus is located at 900 8th Avenue in historic downtown Greeley.
