Greeley Water Budget Open House Scheduled for November 20
Join the City of Greeley for an open house to learn about the 2020 changes to Greeley’s Water Budget program from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 20. The event takes place at the City Center South, 1001 10th Ave., in the City Council Chambers overflow room on the first floor of the building.
Starting in January, the indoor portion water budget for residential water customers will change from 55 gallons per person per day to 45 gallons. The outdoor portion will also be slightly decreased to show moderate water use on lawns, instead of high water use. These changes reflect more accurately how our community uses water and will make your water budget more meaningful.
The open house is an opportunity to get questions answered about the change, learn more about how water budgets work, and to make adjustments to your household information. The event also features giveaways and a chance to win prizes.
One way to prepare for the change is to sign up for WaterSmart. It's a free web portal available for residents to discover if they are consistently staying within their water budgets. Signing up is simple with your water account number at greeleygov.com/watersmart. Another option is to sign up for a free indoor water audit. It is a personalized assessment of your household water use. A water conservation technician will: seek out leaks and other unintended uses of water, look for high-water-use appliances, provide new showerheads and aerators, and suggest repairs or upgrades. Get on to the audit schedule by using our online form at greeleygov.com/audits or by calling 970-336-4228.
